چکیده
Background: Stress is the causative factor for various diseases and disorders faced by majority of diseased population. The leaves Sambucus nigra (S. nigra) are attributed to neuropharmacological properties as per literature. Considering above, S. hydroalcoholic extract was tested adaptogenic activity in animals. Objective: study deals with evaluation using cold immobilization footshock induced stress. Materials Methods: (200 400 mg/kg) administered treatment groups 1 hour before 14 consecutive days stress 10 days, respectively. current work carrying out investigate against perturbations behaviour (sexual behaviour, depression, cognitive dysfunction). Suppressed male sexual percentage active avoidance response duration immobility were used indices. Additionally, liver function (SGOT, SGPT, ALP), lipid profiles (TC, TG, HDL, LDL, VLDL) differential leukocytes counts (neutrophils, eosinophils, lymphocyte, monocyte) assessed terms Diazepam (1 served standard agent literature review comparison. Results: All these chronic stress-induced reversed, dose-dependently (2000 diazepam mg/kg). dose group mg/kg p.o. method showed significant variation (P< 0.1) when compared control group. Conclusion: indicated qualitatively results comparable diazepam, a range biochemical behavioural

Beneficial Effects of Fumaria indica on Chronic Stress-Induced Neurobehavioral and Biochemical Perturbations in Rats
Objective: To evaluate the anti-stress activity of standardized extract of Fumaria indica (FI) through validated behavioral models of rodents followed by estimation of biochemical changes associated with chronic stress. Methods: Fifty percent ethanolic extract of FI used in this study was standardized on its contents of fumaric acid and its conjugates (0.45% and 0.35% respectively). Stressed Ch...

OBJECTIVE Many pharmacological activities have been reported in Sambucus (S.) genus. The aim of present study was to investigate antidepressant activities of different parts of S. ebulus and S. nigra. MATERIALS AND METHODS Antidepressant activity of methanolic extracts were evaluated by forced swimming test (FST) and tail suspension tests (TST) in male Swiss albino mice. RESULTS Extracts sh...
